Establishing Troubleshooting Connectivity and Communication

Most network problems occur out on the wires. The components that connect PCs and enable them to communicate are susceptible to many kinds of problems. The following sections discuss these important connectivity and communication components and some of the problems associated with them:
These components were introduced in previous chapters of this book. (See Chapter 3, “Transmission Media,” Chapter 6, “Connectivity Devices,” and Chapter 10, “Network Adapter Cards.”) This chapter concentrates on troubleshooting guidelines.
